4 Delicious Healthy Snacks For Kids

Whole Food Is The Best Snack Food

There are a lot of snack options for children, and unfortunately, most have way too much sugar, hydrogenated oil, chemicals and other ingredients which are not healthy—especially for children. We should always try to feed our children the most whole food as possible, whenever possible. “Whole food” means something you would find in the produce section, like fruit, or a banana, or veggies. Whole food is always best for kids.

For Healthy Snacks, Go Organic

When it comes to produce and fruit, organically grown food always has more flavor (and nutrition) than non-organic food, and so when it comes to getting the kiddo to try something new, go organic. Have you ever tasted a non-organic carrot and then bit into an organic carrot? I have, and the non-organic carrot can have a metallic taste, while the organic one is sweet. Truly, the perversion of our food supply does not help our kids one bit, and I think we’d all have better luck getting kids to eat healthier if we would feed them organically grown food.

My 4 Healthy Snack Ideas For Kids

I have four healthy snack ideas for your kids which I hope you’ll find helpful. Note that I use sea salt in three of these healthy snack ideas. Sea salt is actually good for us, and good for kids too. Sea salt has trace minerals in it, unlike iodized salt, which is highly processed and pretty much poison. I give a complete discussion about iodized salt and sea salt in my book. Click the sea salt link to learn why I’m an advocate of sea salt and why I think we should use it in our food on a regular basis.

Organic Veggies & Fresh ‘n Nova Thyme Hummos

Healthy-Snacks-For-Kids-Veggies-Hummos-750

I absolutely love the Fresh ‘n Nova Hummus. It’s a raw chickpea and tahini blend and they make quite a few flavor combinations. You can find this hummus at health food stores. For the organic vegetables I have carrots, zucchini, cucumber, red pepper, yellow pepper and jicama. Mx it up with other organic veggies. It really doesn’t matter – getting fresh, whole food like this into your kid makes this an excellent healthy snack (good for adults too!).

Organic Apples, Sea Salt & Almond Nut Butter

Healthy-Snacks-For-Kids-Apples-Nut-Butter-750

I love this combination and I’m sure your kids will love this healthy snack as well! Note that I use RealSalt™ sea salt because I really like it’s sweet flavor. There are several great sea salts on the market – find one at a health food store. For the apples, they absolutely should be organic. Otherwise you’re feeding the kiddos lots of pesticide residue which is quite toxic. Buy high quality apples that are crisp, like Gala apples or something similar. As for the nut butter, I like almond butter, tahini or peanut butter. But, don’t get any nut butter that has hydrogenated oil in it – that’s poison. It’s okay if you have to stir it! Organic apples, sea salt and almond nut butter makes a delicious and healthy snack for your child!

Organic Crispbread, Organic Tomatoes & Toppings

Healthy-Snacks-For-Kids-Crispbreads-Hummos-750

I love the Doctor Kracker organic crispbreads. These crackers taste great, are all organic and are healthy. The Hemp Seed Pesto made by Basiltops is to die for! You will love it and I’m sure your kids will as well. The Black Olive Fresh ‘N Nova Hummos is delicious and healthy also, and I already talked about the seat salt. Slap this all together with an organic tomato and you’ll have a winning combination that your kids will love. Try heirloom tomatoes when they are in season – they are the best!

Rice Cakes With Peanut Butter & Apple Butter

Healthy-Snacks-For-Kids-Rice-Cakes-750

What you see is a set of organic ingredients with no added sugar. The Eden Organic Apple Butter is sweetened with concentrated apple juice with no added sugar. The Santa Cruz Dark Roasted Peanut Butter is very delicious. The organic raw coconut oil by Artisana is not only delicious, but also very good for the body. And the rice cakes taste great too! A little sea salt brings all the flavors together. This combo is a great healthy snack for kids and far better than feeding them muffins, brownies or cookies! More filling and satisfying too.

Treat and Cure Rheumatoid Arthritis With 3 Healthy Lifestyle Remedies

Rheumatoid arthritis is like other disease conditions of the body: when given the right conditions, the body can heal itself. Adopting a healthy lifestyle is the first step to reversing rheumatoid arthritis, and in the video above I share 3 specific natural remedies that, when properly followed, can help the body heal of rheumatoid arthritis symptoms. Rheumatoid arthritis has a complicated set of root causes and they all need to be addressed in order for the body to heal. However, there is hope, and remember – the word “cure” simply means the body figured out to heal.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is treatable, and it can be reversed. If not all the way, at least significantly, when someone follows the healthy lifestyle. I have three specific remedies that I’m going to give you that, if you follow them and you have Rheumatoid Arthritis, you have a really good chance of either completely reversing Rheumatoid Arthritis, or at least significantly improving your health. So, let’s get started.

Number one, you want to go see a naturopathic doctor. That is, by far, the absolute most important thing that you can do for yourself, is to go visit a naturopathic doctor. A naturopathic doctor specializes in uncovering the root cause of health problems. So, whereas a medical doctor is going to say “Yeah, you have Rheumatoid Arthritis, let me give you some drugs and treat the symptoms”, a naturopathic doctor is going to look at your symptoms, go “Yeah, you have RA, but let’s try to figure out what’s going on that’s causing all of these different symptoms.” Generally speaking, there’s a lot going on. It is not an easy thing to treat. I know this from talking with naturopathic doctors.

So, let’s get into what a naturopathic doctor is. A naturopathic doctor attended a four year post-graduate medical school where they learned basically the same stuff that a medical doctor learns, and they learn natural remedies, and how to treat the root cause of health issues. So, when you go see a naturopathic doctor, you’re visiting someone who has an extensive amount of training in the health sciences. A licensed naturopathic doctor is someone who can order and interpret labs. They can treat and diagnose disease. They basically are on par with a medical doctor, the only difference is they’re using natural remedies.

So, to find a naturopathic doctor in your area, what you want to do is Google naturopathic doctor and your city, and look and see what comes up. That’s one option. In Washington state they’re called naturopathic physicians, so you might want to try that phrase as well in your Google search. Your other option is you can go to a website called realizehealth.org, and there’s a whole list of naturopathic doctors on there as well. You can do a search on that website for a naturopathic doctor as well.

Number two has to do with taking some supplements. The gut in people who have RA is usually very compromised. There’s all kinds of problems going on with the gut. When you take a supplement called Probiotics, which is friendly bacteria, you’re actually helping the gut heal. Now, there’s a lot more that needs to happen besides that, and your naturopathic doctor is going to tell you about that, but you can get going right now. So, probiotics, because it’s friendly bacteria that helps heal your gut. Digestive enzymes, because there’s usually digestive issues going on simultaneously. Digestive enzymes help digest food, and one other supplement to take is fish oil. Fish oil helps reduce inflammation, and RA has a lot of inflammation going on. So, digestive enzymes, probiotics, and fish oil. That’s number two.

Number three has to do with your food. This part is critical. It’s absolutely critical. You have to change your diet, and when I say change your diet, I mean probably a radical change. What that means is this, you want to eat whole, organic food all the time. You want to get rid of processed foods. A lot of people don’t know what processed means, so I’m going to help you understand it. Bread is processed. Pasta is processed. Muffins are processed. Bagels are processed. Anything that comes out of a box or a can is processed food, or a bag, such as bread. You want to get rid of all of that. You want to get rid of all the diet soda, all the Coke, all the sugar. Anything with sugar in it has to go. If you want to get better, you have to change your diet. There is no way around it. You just have to. If you put poor nutrition in, or no nutrition into your body on a regular basis, and you put poison into your body on a regular basis, you’re not going to get better. You have to put in really good food. Good food is whole, organic food. Stuff you find in the produce section on a very regular, if not very daily basis. So, that’s number three.

Let’s recap. One, visit a naturopathic doctor and follow the protocol that the naturopathic doctor gives you. It’s not like Western medicine. You don’t go to a naturopathic to be prescribed a drug and then go home after that! You actually have to do some work when you visit a naturopathic doctor, but if you want to get better, follow the protocol. You will get better. That’s number one, find a naturopathic doctor and follow their protocol. Number two, take probiotics, digestive enzymes, and fish oil. Number three, change your diet to a whole foods diet, organic diet. Get rid of all the processed food. Get rid of everything that has any kind of chemical whatsoever in it, and you will start to get better. I guarantee it. You can find organic food and supplements at a health food store: find one near you and start shopping there if you want to get healthy.

OK, I have a couple videos to share with you. The first one is with Dr. Angela Agrios, ND. She’s a naturopathic doctor here in Los Angeles. I interviewed her quite a few years ago about Rheumatoid Arthritis, and she gave a great interview. I highly recommend watching it, especially if you have Rheumatoid Arthritis. What you might want to know is she has since seen quite a few patients from that video, and they’ve gotten better. It’s not easy to treat RA. This I know, so you really do have to follow the protocol. You really do have to change your diet. You really do have to take the supplements. You really have to do everything that’s recommended. Watch her Rheumatoid Arthritis treatment video, learn a little bit more. Then find a naturopathic doctor in your area.

The second video is of me talking about Western medicine versus natural medicine. When the body has the right conditions, it can heal. If you want to learn a little bit more about how the body can heal when given the right conditions, that’s a great video to watch.

If you found this post helpful, please share it with your friends!

Healthy Living Leads To Disease Reversal, Weight Loss, More Energy and Vibrant Health

The body knows how to heal itself, when given the right conditions. Cancers have been reversed, diseases have been reversed, and healing has happened, all without the toxic side effects of drugs or invasive procedures. The problem though, is that most of us have turned our health over to an industry that makes the most profit through our sickness by managing our symptoms with synthetic drugs.

That’s not healing – that’s management – because synthetic drugs don’t heal the body.  And unfortunately, drug management of symptoms comes with a high price, including  the potential for dangerous side effects, and the further degradation of our health.

So instead of doing the things we ought to be doing to help our body heal, we follow the symptom management model of “health” given to us by mainstream medicine and the media, and in so doing, our health ever so gradually gets worse and worse.

But it doesn’t need to be this way at all when we decide to take charge of our own health and do the things that the body requires for it to heal. And I’ll tell you what, an amazing thing happens when we make this decision: a flood of information can come our way to help us do what it takes to get healthier, or even completely heal from the conditions we are suffering from. This happens every day all the time, it just isn’t broadcast to you from mainstream media or from the conventional medical establishment, since both are influenced by the pharmaceutical industry and the massive amount of profit this medical model generates.

Before I share with you what you need do to get to vibrant health, I first want to tell you a story. My mom passed away several years ago at the age of 65. She had multiple chronic health problems and was probably taking a dozen drugs every day to manage her symptoms. I would try to share with her some healthy lifestyle steps she could take that would improve her health and reduce her reliance on drugs, but she would have none of that. She would say to me, “But Larry, you’re not a doctor.” And this my friends, is the very crux of the issue that we suffer from: the belief that we can’t learn for ourselves how to be healthy. Who taught us that!? Ultimately, my mom wound up in a hospital where they gave her the wrong drugs, which created insurmountable problems that ultimately took her life. And it was completely unnecessary.

Another story I want to share with you is my own. Five years ago I had severe circulatory issues that created leg and foot cramping, nose bleeds and other symptoms. I visited a naturopathic doctor (Dr. Angela Agrios, ND) who was able to identify the reasons why my circulation was poor, and she prescribed a number of supplements, some dietary changes, hydrotherapy and some other therapies. Additionally, I also did mild hyperbaric therapy – which is oxygenation of the cells. The problem ran deep but after a while my nosebleeds disappeared, the regular foot cramping went away and other issues cleared up, significantly. I am in way better health now than I was 5 years ago because I chose to see a natural doctor who would treat the cause of my problems, instead of the symptoms.

And in case you’re wondering, I’m 50 years old.

There are two medical models you should know about: 1) the western medicine model that treats symptoms with drugs and surgery, and 2) the alternative natural medicine model that treats the root cause of health issues so that the body can actually heal. The first model makes billions of dollars for the pharmaceutical industry while an entire populace gets sicker and sicker, and the second medical model helps people get off prescription drugs, reverse disease and regain their health. Which one sounds the most appealing to you?

If you chose the second, that’s great, but it does come with a price: you have to take responsibility for your health, every single day, and there is no way around this. And that responsibility is called “healthy living,” also known as “natural living.”

A healthy lifestyle, or, natural lifestyle, is a lifestyle where we do our very best to do only the things that promote our health and reduce or eliminate the things that harm our health. After 10 years of research and 3 years of writing, I’ve collected the most important ones and put them into my book, The Beginner’s Guide to Natural Living.  In summary, they are:

Drink purified water
Only drink water that is free of chlorine, fluoride and other chemicals.

Avoid synthetic foods
Avoid all foods with artificial ingredients whatsoever, and also avoid GMO food, irradiated food, aspartame, MSG, processed sugar and iodized salt.

Eat organic food

Eat organically grown food as often as possible, especially at home.

Shop at a health food store

Shop at health food stores because they stock healthy products and are the best places to find food and other products that are healthy for the body.

Eat a healthy diet

Eat whole food every day – whole food means it did not come from a box, can or package, and by the way, bread, pasta and bagels are not whole foods.

Use potent supplements

Use supplements like probiotics, digestive enzymes, green superfoods and apple cider vinegar because they help improve health by giving the body what it needs to stay healthy.

Detoxify the body

Detoxify the body because it can be easily overburdened with toxins in today’s society, and if we don’t help clean out those toxins, our health will degenerate.

Exercise regularly

We must exercise regularly because exercise moves lymph and helps the circulatory system function well.

Build chi energy

Chi energy is what makes us alive, and when it is cultivated we feel better and have better health.

Use natural medicine

Natural medicine treats the cause of health problems so that we can heal – remember, the body can heal itself when given the right conditions – natural medicine seeks to give it the right conditions

Visit a holistic dentist
Mercury amalgam fillings are toxic and dangerous – holistic dentists won’t use mercury amalgam and know how to safely remove mercury fillings from the mouth.

I often spend a lot of time explaining the importance of food choices because by far, what you eat every day is the major determining factor of your health. Eating devitalized, chemical laden, nutrient deficient food every day is going to create disease sooner or later, and eating whole, unprocessed and vibrant food every day will help restore health. I even offer healthy recipes that are extremely delicious, easy to make and good for you because in order to eat healthy, you need to know how to cook.

Whatever your health condition or disease you are diagnosed with, or if you are looking to lose weight or gain more energy, I guarantee you that adopting a healthy lifestyle will greatly improve your life, if not completely restore your health. It’s not about doing just one thing though – it’s about doing a lot of things, consciously and with deliberation, every single day.

And that’s where I come in: My mission is to help you better understand these areas of health so that you can take charge of your life and get healthier as quickly as possible.

A great way to jumpstart into a healthier lifestyle is to have me come into your home because that’s where I can help you the most. While there I’ll help you get rid of the harmful products and food, we’ll go shopping at a health food store so I can teach you how to navigate a health food store, I’ll teach you how to make delicious and nutritious meals on your own, and I’ll help you understand the next steps you can take for complete healing. I give a full overview on my coaching page.

My book is an excellent resource and it has helped many thousands of people adopt a healthier lifestyle, and get healthy. It’s available as a softcover, on Amazon’s Kindle, as a downloadable eBook, and it can even be read for free on my other website, TheNaturalGuide.com.

Making any of my healthy recipes is a great idea because my recipes are simple, delicious and nutritious.

Subscribing to my YouTube Channel is a great way to stay up to date with my latest videos as I post them.

Finally, I want to say this: you can be healthy. We all can. The body can heal, when given the right conditions. Take charge of your health and you will get better!
